New music has been released; Cultureshock. Genre: Ambient Dub. Although ‘music’ doesn’t fully describe it, because it is also partly meant to be a soundscape.

The Experience
With this work I wanted to create the feeling of wandering through Japan with no obligations, being fully free to do what you want at your own pace. I tapped into my own experience, especially the first time I was there.
It starts with traveling with the train and metro to your first destination after arriving at Narita airport. When you get off the metro, you’re walking up the stairs out of the station onto Shibuya Crossing for the first time – a wall of sound hits your ears and there’s so many people and lights around you, you don’t know where to look.
You’ve walked around at Shibuya a while but you want to see Akihabara as well, so that’s where you’re going next. And it’s the weekend so it’s packed with people all walking on the road.

It’s awesome to see and experience, but now you’re moving on to a quieter and greener place in the country. You can really relax there. And while you get the feeling of being a long way from home, it also feels like another ‘home’ at the same time.
After spending some more time there and and traveling a bit more, you’re taking one last look at the city on your way back to the airport and it’s time to say goodbye.
An image says more than a thousand words – sounds say more than an image.
Listen to this Ambient Dub / Soundscape track and relax and enjoy.
